How will the Qurbani meat be sourced and delivered?
Qurbani animals will be procured and slaughtered and distributed in accordance with Islamic guidelines within 3 days of Eid Al Adha.
Qurbanis intended for Gaza will be procured and processed in Egypt or Jordan in the first 3 days of Eid Al Adha, Every effort will be made to preserve and transport your Qurbani into Gaza. If borders remain closed beyond our best efforts, your Qurbani will be redirected to support newly displaced Palestinians in Egypt or Jordan, ensuring your sacrifice still reaches those in need from Gaza.
Important information for Qurbanis in Gaza
Due to the severe blockade and economic crisis in Gaza, local procurement risks further inflation in livestock prices. Food prices have already increased by over 1,400%. Sourcing animals locally would place additional strain on everyday people.
We are sourcing animals from stable markets in neighbouring areas to adhere to our ‘Do No Harm’ principle and safeguard vulnerable communities.

The ‘Do No Harm’ principle requires Action For Humanity to take steps to prevent and lessen any negative impacts of our actions in the areas where we work and for our beneficiaries. We aim for a conflict-sensitive approach, being careful not to unintentionally worsen conditions for vulnerable communities.

Each stage of the Qurbani project, including the selection and slaughter of animals and distribution, adheres strictly to Islamic teachings (Dhabihah). In areas like Gaza, where fresh meat distribution is difficult, we use canned Qurbani to guarantee safe delivery and long shelf life, without compromising on quality and religious compliance.
