Family Twinning Initiative

By twinning your family with a family in Gaza for $320 a month, you become a lifeline during one of the most difficult periods they have ever faced. Families have lost their homes, access to clean water is severely limited, healthcare systems are under extreme strain, and food insecurity is at an all-time high. Your monthly support provides direct financial assistance, enabling families to meet their most urgent needs with dignity.

Through this initiative, families can use your support to rebuild damaged or destroyed homes, feed their children with essential food and clean water, and contribute to local economic stability through cash assistance that supports communities as a whole. By extending your table to a family in Gaza, you are offering safety, nourishment, and hope, and helping displaced families begin to rebuild their lives.

10K Food Parcels For Gaza

As hunger in Gaza reaches catastrophic levels, we are delivering 10,000 food parcels, each providing enough food to sustain a family for a full month. More than 1.8 million people are facing extreme hunger, including 200,000 children suffering from acute malnutrition, with nearly half a million people experiencing catastrophic food insecurity, the highest level recorded anywhere in the world. The need for urgent food assistance has never been greater.

Over the past year, we have distributed 16,000 food parcels to displaced families from Gaza, both inside Gaza and to those forced to seek refuge in Egypt. This includes 10,000 parcels already delivered, 2,500 currently en route, and preparations underway for a further 10,000 ahead of Ramadan. Our teams are assembling essential parcels containing rice, flour, lentils, sugar, and oil for safe delivery. With your support, we can continue to reach families still waiting for aid, providing nourishment, dignity, and hope through food assistance, alongside medical care, shelter, psychosocial support, and water and sanitation services.

Clean Water for All

In the western districts of Gaza City, thousands of displaced families are living in makeshift shelters without reliable access to clean drinking water, placing their health and survival at constant risk. Action For Humanity’s Water Distribution for IDPs in Gaza project is delivering an urgent lifeline by providing safe drinking water to more than 44,000 people over a three-month period. The project ensures each person receives a minimum of six litres per day for drinking and cooking, in line with WASH Cluster standards.

Working closely with the WASH Cluster and local partners, teams have prioritized the most vulnerable shelters, launched water trucking operations with strict quality controls, and carried out daily testing to guarantee safety. Community engagement and public health messaging support safe water storage and handling, while feedback systems strengthen accountability. The project will continue daily deliveries and monitoring, expand awareness efforts to reduce contamination risks, and use lessons learned to inform longer-term water, sanitation, and hygiene interventions in Gaza.

Hygiene Kits for Families

Action For Humanity, in partnership with the Humanitarian Relief Foundation Switzerland (FSH), has delivered emergency hygiene kits to 250 of the most vulnerable displaced families, reaching around 1,500 people across the Gaza Strip.

Each kit contains essential hygiene and menstrual health supplies tailored for women, children, and people with disabilities, with items locally procured, assembled by trained volunteers, and distributed through community hubs to ensure safety, dignity, and accountability.

Alongside distribution, the project has strengthened local capacity through safeguarding and accountability training, working closely with trusted community organizations. While this is an emergency intervention, it also lays the groundwork for sustainable hygiene support by empowering local partners, improving procurement networks, and promoting longer-term hygiene practices that will continue to benefit communities beyond the immediate crisis.

PALESTINE EMERGENCY: FAQS

Why does Gaza still need humanitarian assistance three years on?

Three years after October 2023, families across Gaza continue to face severe humanitarian conditions. Israeli attacks, repeated displacement, restrictions on humanitarian access, and the destruction of essential infrastructure have left millions struggling to meet their basic needs.

Food, clean water, healthcare, and safe shelter remain urgently needed. Humanitarian organizations, including Action For Humanity, continue responding while supporting communities on the long road to recovery.

Since October 2023, Action For Humanity has reached more than 1.3 million people across Palestine, supporting over 262,000 households.

Our response has included emergency food distributions, clean water, healthcare, temporary shelter, rehabilitation services, cash assistance, and support for vulnerable children and families.

How is Action For Humanity sending money directly into Gaza?

Getting funds into Gaza is very challenging. Banks and ATMs are out of service, cash is limited, and private brokers charge high fees. Because of these conditions, AFH operates entirely through our registered office in the West Bank. Funds from Canada are transferred to our West Bank accounts, and all payments to Gaza suppliers or partners are made by bank transfer. Our Gaza staff receive salaries into their personal accounts and withdraw cash through authorized brokers. We do not make cash payments on the ground — this helps keep our operations secure and accountable.

How is Action For Humanity providing food assistance in Gaza?

Our teams have delivered hot meals, food parcels, food baskets, and vouchers to families affected by the crisis.

Since October 2023, we've reached more than 629,000 people through food assistance programs, helping families access essential nutrition amid severe shortages and disruption to food supplies.

With food production devastated — 86% of cropland damaged and imports severely restricted — Gaza now relies heavily on humanitarian aid. AFH works with trusted local partners and vendors to source what’s available on the local market, ensuring meals can reach those who need them most. We review market conditions every month to adapt our plans, respond to price changes, and keep costs as low as possible.

How is Action For Humanity providing clean water?

Action For Humanity has supported more than 555,000 people through water, sanitation, and hygiene programs since October 2023.

Our response has included water distributions, water trucking, solar-powered water systems, hygiene kits, and sanitation facilities, helping families access essential services where infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed.

What are the HOPE Camps, and how have they supported displaced families?

Action For Humanity established five HOPE Camps in Gaza to provide temporary shelter and essential services for families forced from their homes.

Together, these camps have supported more than 12,500 displaced people, providing access to food, clean water, healthcare, education and psychosocial support.

The camps have also provided opportunities for children and families to regain a sense of stability amid ongoing uncertainty.

AFH teams are working to repair damage, restore services, and provide safe shelter wherever possible.

How is Action For Humanity supporting healthcare in Palestine?

Since October 2023, Action For Humanity has supported more than 93,000 people through healthcare programs.

Our response has included medical assistance, support for healthcare facilities, rehabilitation services, prosthetics and orthotics, and mental health and psychosocial support.

With your support, Action For Humanity helped Al-Shifa hospital, the main hospital in Gaza, to recover after another military offensive in May and at the start of October 2023.

As healthcare needs continue to grow, we're committed to helping families access essential treatment and rehabilitation services.
